Upgrade from ADOGRC 15.0 to ADOGRC 15.1

Upgrading from ADOGRC 15.0 to ADOGRC 15.1 does not require an application library update. The application library is unchanged between these versions.

The upgrade requires updating the deployment configuration to use the ADOGRC 15.1 container images and redeploying ADOGRC.

info

This upgrade does not require upgrading the database schema, updating the application library, executing migration scripts or migrating component settings.

Before You Start

Before upgrading ADOGRC, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:

  • You are already using ADOGRC 15.0.

  • You have access to a Linux machine, or Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), with Docker Engine installed and network access to your OCI registry.

  • You have valid credentials for your OCI registry.

  • You have access to the Kubernetes environment in which ADOGRC is deployed.

  • You have the required permissions to update the deployment configuration and redeploy ADOGRC.

note

Network access from the Linux machine or WSL environment to the database server, as well as database server credentials, are only required if you need to change the password of the database user ADOxx because it still uses the predefined default password (see below).

Prepare the Database User Credentials

In ADOGRC 15.1, you can no longer use the database user ADOxx with the predefined default password. If your existing database uses this password, change the password of the ADOxx user before continuing.

You also need to create an encrypted credentials string for the database user (ADOxx or an individual database user). You will need this string when you deploy ADOGRC 15.1.

For instructions, see Prepare the Database User Credentials.

Update the Deployment Configuration

Update your deployment configuration to reference the ADOGRC 15.1 container images.

note

The exact location of the image version depends on your deployment configuration. For example, it may be specified in your custom values.yaml file.

Redeploy ADOGRC

Redeploy ADOGRC using the updated deployment configuration.

note

For detailed deployment instructions, see Deployment of ADOGRC.

Verify the Upgrade

After the deployment has completed successfully, verify that the upgrade has been completed correctly.

  • Ensure that all ADOGRC containers are running successfully.

  • Open ADOGRC and verify that users can log in.

  • Click the user symbol []{.image} in the upper-right corner, and then click Info.

  • Verify that ADOGRC 15.1 is displayed.
