Synchronisation with ADONIS - Default Mapping

This section describes the standard mapping for synchronising objects between the ADOIT and ADONIS default libraries. The mapping provides the assignment of the exported classes to the classes in the target library.

ArchiMate Library & ADONIS BPMS Library

The standard mapping for the ArchiMate Application Library and the ADONIS BPMS Application Library covers the following metamodel elements:

When using ADONIS 19.1 or higher together with ADOIT 21.0.0 or higher, the interface also evaluates indirect relations between Processes and Applications via Business Process Diagrams.

The mapped metamodel elements are examined below in more detail.

Remarque

Arrows (->) indicate that elements are not mapped one-to-one, but to an element with a different name.

The Users themselves are not replicated. Ideally, they are synchronised from a directory service. If that is not possible, you have to ensure that manually created Users have the same name in both products.

From ADOIT to ADONIS

Application Components and their relations to Users are transferred to ADONIS.

Application Component -> Application

• The following attributes of Application Components are replicated to ADONIS:

  • Valid until

  • Change History

  • Lifecycle state

  • Investment strategy

• The following relation of Application Components is transferred to ADONIS:

  • Responsible business actors -> Responsible person

From ADONIS to ADOIT

Processes and Roles including their relations are transferred to ADOIT.

• The following attributes of Processes are replicated to ADOIT:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Valid from

  • Valid until

  • Potential and maturity analysis (as-is average) -> Current level of maturity

  • Cost efficiency

  • Cycle time

  • Quality

  • Customer satisfaction

  • IT support

  • Compliance

  • Change history

  • State

  • Risk management

  • Process management maturity

• The following relations of Processes are transferred to ADOIT:

  • Referenced Applications/IT System Elements -> Serving

    Applications are identified not only through direct references from Processes, but also through indirect references via Business Process Diagrams. See below for details.

  • Process owner -> Responsible business actors

  • Subordinated processes -> Aggregation

Role -> Business Actor

• The following attributes of Roles are replicated to ADOIT:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Valid from

  • Valid until

  • Change history

Application references evaluated for Processes

The following paths are evaluated to identify Applications referenced by a Process:

1. Process -> Referenced applications/IT system elements -> Application

2. Process -> Referenced business process/process landscape -> Business Process Diagram -> Referenced applications/IT system elements -> Application

3. Process -> Referenced business process/process landscape -> Business Process Diagram -> Task -> Referenced applications/IT system elements -> Application

4. Process -> Referenced business process/process landscape -> Business Process Diagram -> Subprocess -> Referenced subprocess -> Business Process Diagram -> ...

The indirect relations between Processes and Applications via Business Process Diagrams (paths 2-4) are only evaluated when using ADONIS 19.0.1 or higher together with ADOIT 21.0.0 or higher, and if the extended configuration is in use. When synchronising objects using earlier product versions, only direct relations (path 1) are evaluated.
