Migration Scripts

The ArchiMate Application Library is constantly being evolved, incorporating methodical improvements. To prevent potential data loss when upgrading ADOIT from an older version to version 16.0, you need to adjust your repository content to fit the new method. This is where the migration scripts come into play.

caution

Only execute these scripts when prompted to do so as part of a migration guide!

Executing the Script "15.0 - repo 1.js"

This script updates the repository. The following changes are made:

  • Note

Enables the option Use legacy formatting options for all Notes that have been migrated to ADOIT 15.0 or higher. This will ensure that all models containing Notes will look as they did before.

note

Newly created Notes use the new and improved formatting options in ADOIT 15.0 or higher. To also use the improved formatting options for migrated Notes, Use legacy formatting options needs to be turned off (in the Notebook chapter "General information" in the group "Legacy formatting options").

Executing the Script "15.1 - repo grouping_layer.js"

This script updates the repository. The following changes are made:

  • Grouping

Ensures that Groupings migrated to ADOIT 15.1.4 or higher are consistently positioned behind other objects in the graphical editor. This will ensure that all models containing Groupings will look as they did before.

note

Starting with ADOIT 15.1.4, it becomes possible to freely move Groupings to the front or back of other objects in the graphical editor. This flexibility applies to both migrated and newly created Groupings. In earlier versions of ADOIT, Groupings were always positioned to the back of other objects.
