Architecture
ADOIT instance | ADOIT instance which is deployed either on premise, in a private cloud or at BOC cloud services. The deployment must be accessible from the ADOIT x Confluence App and the Feature and Foundation Services. |
ADOIT x Confluence App | Cloud native application that integrates Confluence Cloud with ADOIT instances. This application embeds functionalities of Feature and Foundation Services. |
ADOIT x Confluence Installation | The app that has been installed in the Confluence Cloud instance. |
Authentication | Authenticates the user at ADOIT instances with OAuth 2.0. |
AWS | Used hyperscaler Amazon Web Services. |
BOC Cloud Services | Cloud native application services provided by BOC and hosted on AWS. |
Browser | Web client used to access both ADOIT instance and Confluence Cloud by the user. |
Confluence | Confluence Cloud instance that has the ADOIT x Confluence App installed. |
Customer Map Service | Cloud database that stores a mapping between Atlassian Confluence Cloud instance and the ADOIT instances. No sensitive data is stored here. |
Feature Services | Cloud native application services that implement reusable and 3rd party-platform-agnostic business functionalities. |
Foundation Services | Cloud native application services that provide the underlying technical services like authentication and customer mapping. |
Macros | Confluence Macros that provide business functionalities to embed ADOIT instance data to Confluence Cloud pages. |
Software Requirements

In order to use ADOIT Enterprise Architect for Confluence with your ADOIT Enterprise Edition, the Standard RESTful services module must be licensed and enabled!

Confluence Setup
This section describes the setup requirements for Confluence.
Requirements | |
Plugins configuration | A Confluence administrator is required to install and configure the ADOIT Enterprise Architect for Confluence apps. |
Instance mapping | The ADOIT instance URLs that shall be accessed by the Confluence Cloud instance have to be added to the Customer Map Service. |
Users | Users with edit permissions to Confluence pages can add, remove, and manage ADOIT Enterprise Architect macros. NOTE: Only ADOIT models and objects that the user has access to can be used by macros. |
ADOIT Setup
This section describes the setup requirements for ADOIT when using ADOIT Enterprise Architect for Confluence together with the ADOIT.

Authentication | To fetch data from ADOIT instances, the REST API with OAuth 2.0 must be enabled for each of them. |
Users | To enable a user to embed and view ADOIT contents in Confluence Cloud, the user must have an active ADOIT user with an user group and a repository assigned. NOTE: Only content (repository/models/objects) that the user has access to, will also be available via ADOIT Enterprise Architect in Confluence. |
CORS policy | CORS policy settings have to be configured. |
Security | SSL/HTTPS is required. |
RESTful services | Licensed and activated. |

Hardware Requirements
Make sure the requirements for Atlassian Confluence Cloud and the BOC Products are met in order to use the ADOIT Enterprise Architect for Confluence.
Depending on the usage scenario of the ADOIT Enterprise Architect for Confluence, it might be required to increase the hardware resources for ADOIT.
